Okay, so to start this entire post, I am NOT trying to make a statement. I just wanted to share a couple of things that made me laugh.
I’ve already decided which presidential candidate I’ll be voting for – I’ve known for a long time. Lately, though, I’ve been getting more and more irritated with both campaigns (not candidates, just their campaigns) and their efforts to get me to follow. First, I saw this on TV:
Really? He needs his own CHANNEL?! It’s not enough that he is running paid advertisements around the clock, but he actually has his own channel. Wow.
I had initially intended to post the previous picture with a caption that read: “Okay, I’ve changed my mind. NOT!” But I thought that wouldn’t be very kind. I then decided that I would go out to the interweb and find more information about why I’m choosing to vote against Obama – you know, like which issues are actually the deal breakers. Well, that idea went out the window when I got to the Obama for Prez website. Not because I changed my mind, but because I was SOOOO distracted by elements of the website.
First of all, he looks GREY!
Not Black, not White, but GREY. This can’t be something that only I see on my screen. This MUST be intentional, but it still made me laugh.
Second, someone needs to shower:
I don’t know that I want to log into a websited dedicated to body odor. Or, at least, I don’t want proudly log into my own body odor
.
I went to McCain’s website, and I didn’t see anything that made me laugh. Instead, I found that the site’s usability was set to nil, and I couldn’t find anything of substance on his “Issues” page after clicking the pause button on the 5 videos that bombarded me when I first loaded the page. Sheesh.
So while some may think that my vote for prez is mis- or under-informed, I counter with the fact that there really isn’t a decent way to GET informed. Both sides seem to deliberately double-talk or speak/write vaguely enough that I can’t make sense of it… so THERE!

That last image is priceless. I might just use that in my job.

You couldn’t find anything on McCain’s website? That’s odd… all you have to do is go here: http://www.johnmccain.com/Informing/Issues/
Incidentally, Gretch posted on her blog for her graphic design class a critique of the two candidates’ websites… what do you think?

I agree with your post 100%. Your sarcasm is well-placed.
I say you ignore G and Alex and stay flummoxed by the lack of clarity in these campaigns. It really is ridiculous, isn’t it?
